Complementing and saying thank you is one of the most important and touchy things that a person can do to others which makes others happy and sometimes emotional. We human beings are very sensitive and delicate and by appreciating others and showing express towards them will make their day. Everyone expects a thank you for their work, they await respect, appreciation and gratitude towards them. If these things are not provided, I think the person considers his accomplishments meaningless while working in organization or it could be your friend. If we do not give credit and recognition to others, certain things in life become incoherent such as friendship, relationship of trust and courtesy between each other.

“I can no other ANSWER make but thanks, and thanks, and ever thanks……”

This above quote of William Shakespeare has inspired me very much. I have written some letters to the people I wanted to say thanks for their valuable teachings. First of all, I wrote a letter to my father whom I wanted to say thank you for a very long time for the things he has done for me, sacrifices, choices and for his advice. Secondly, I want to express my gratitude to my university teacher and mentor who always helped me in time of need, not only providing engineering knowledge but also personal development and growth.

My father has always worked hard for me and my family. He worked hard all of his life without thinking about his own health and lifestyle. There are many illuminations he said to me but one thing that I will always remember in my life. I like to share a story on how he gave me this advice. My family has spent a lot of time in Saudi Arabia and we have to move from one city to another due to work. There was a time when we shifted to Riyadh, I joined a new school and boys there always bullied and abused me. I used to come home always crying and weeping and I just wanted to quit studying from this school. One day I came home beaten, my father saw me and by changing his voice to a higher pitch he said, “Don’t ever demotivate yourself, always have self belief and be confident. If anyone hits you, you should repay them with four times of these hits.” There were also many other things he said but this line which I always remember just pumped my blood and confidence and from this day on wards till now, I have not let anybody disgrace or disrespect me.

Second letter I have mailed to my university professor whose name is Syed Shamim Raza. He was a senior teacher and usually was allotted to senior students. At first we had a very different opinion of him that he is very strict and discipline oriented. I remember the day of his first class in our session. He just came and started asking questions related to our field. I just came to the class and he asked me a very simple question which I did not know. I was very embarrassed and ashamed at that time because the question was very easy and everybody was laughing at me. When the class was over he called me and said, “Don’t feel embarrassed, be proud that you do not know the answer. Consider it an opportunity to learn new things, always try to learn from your failures.” I always remember his lines. From that day onward, a result oriented person like me always considered the journey, whatever may be the answer. His teachings revolutionized my life and changed my method of thinking.

The experience I felt from creating and mailing these letters to my idols really picked the weight from my heart. Although at first I was very shy, saying thank you to any person just creates a sense of humility inside you and a smile to other people. It was an amazing and blasting feeling one can earn just by paying compliments and attention to others.
